La La London!

The time has finally arrived.. I have moved to London, and began working with the wonderful Caddi Club!

After finishing up at Naas Golf Club, under the guidance and mentorship of Bernard Quigley PGA, in late January 2024, I moved my entire life and work across the Irish Sea to London City!

After playing in the Coca-Cola PGA Assistants’ Championship late July last year, at Farleigh Golf Club in Surrey, I met the wonderful Lily, also known as “19 Social”. Lily was in charge of the social media content for the event, and after we recorded a couple of promo videos for Coca Cola, we got chatting about our lines of work, and shared our positive views on women in golf and spoke about programmes I had ran in the past, helping women get into golf. Lily then introduced me to the concept of Love.Golf – a specially designed programme started by the wonderful Alastair Spink, who have been welcoming thousands of new women to the game of golf, since 2016.

I was fascinated by the programme, their welcoming setup and smart/fun methods of coaching; something I strive to bring into every lesson. It is probably fair to say, one of the primary attributes beginner women golfers seek within a coach, is a combination of friendliness and patience. Providing clear and concise information is always important, however, if the environment setting is not welcoming, the rest is all in vain.

I was equally fascinated by London City, and after telling Lily I’d love to move to London one day, she pointed me in the direction of Caddi Club who were hiring coaches at the time, as their new venues were continuing to roll-out! Lo, Head of Golf & Events at Caddi Club, is a Love.Golf coach. I fell in love with the Caddi Club concept and the environment it creates for it’s members, in numerous venues across London City. After sharing my interest, and a few weeks of back-and-forth, my position as Golf Coach at Caddi Club Waterloo was secured!

It is now almost March 2024, and I am about to celebrate my one month anniversary at Caddi Club! As Waterloo comes to the final stages of completion, I am currently coaching in the other two vibrant sites at Chelsea and Fulham. It’s great to get to know all of the systems, so once Waterloo opens in late March, coaching will be full-steam ahead!

This is of course, the final year of my PGA degree, at Birmingham University. In the coming weeks, I will be visiting The Belfry, one last time for our residential week of learnings and examinations. A fantastic week of the year, we all look forward to, meeting my fellow PGA Trainees, and being (very) well fed for the week! Following this, will be my final exams, in April. A busy couple of months lie ahead, and for you, golfers, the season is beginning to warm up! Enjoy the longer evenings, and we will chat again soon.
